Junior Turf

Girls junior turf is open to girls in the U13 and Junior age groups. There is one U13T competition and 3 Junior turf competitions. All teams in the competition undergo trials in February to determine whether the team is of the appropriate standard to play in the competition.

South West United field a JT1, JT2 and JT3 team in the BWHA competition for girls aged up to 17. The club also has an U13T team for players who are turning 13 in that year.

Preseason Trials & Training

Training training will start in late January-early February on the artificial surface at State Hockey Centre Morningside.


There will be a selection process for all South West Teams. If you have any queries please contact the Junior Turf Co-ordinator

Training

Season training commences in late January.


Season training is once a week and is a 1 hour session on turf.

WHO: J1, J2, J3, U13T 

WHEN: Monday evening 6-7pm

WHERE:State Hockey Centre, Colmslie



Training for turf players is essential. If you are unable to attend a session it is expected that you inform your coach or manager of your absence.


Playing

U13Turf is played on Saturday mornings at 8:15am, 9:30am, and 10:45am

Junior turf games are on Friday evenings at 6:15pm, 7:30pm, and 8:45pm


The BWHA Turf Fixtures rotate weekly between the following turf facilities in Brisbane.

State Hockey Centre, Colmslie

Burringbar Park, Chermside

Redcliffe Hockey Club, Redcliffe (Cnr Oxley Avenue and Lamington Drive)

Easts Hockey Tiger Turf, Carina (401 Stanley St (Cnr Creek Rd))
